“Woodmont UCC has always been a place where I’ve felt free to be curious alongside others. I first came here as a kid, and the welcome I found led this church to become my spiritual home. It was here that I explored my faith through youth group and confirmation, and years later, this community played an important role in my return to faith and eventual call to ministry. Woodmont UCC continues to be a place where questions are welcomed, different perspectives are valued, and we discover God together.”

 

Rob holds a BFA in Film & Television from the Savannah College of Art and Design and a Master of Divinity from Lexington Theological Seminary. He currently serves as Woodmont UCC's Member in Discernment as he completes the final stages of the UCC’s process toward ordained ministry. From December through February, he will serve as our Sabbatical Pastor while Rev. Jill is away.

 

Rob once imagined a career in film editing before discovering that God had other plans for his love of storytelling. Today, his ministry is centered on deep listening, creative worship, and helping people find themselves within the sacred story. He is especially passionate about creating spaces for dreamers, doubters, and those searching for a spiritual home, where questions can lead to deeper faith and everyone has something to contribute. As Sabbatical Pastor, Rob hopes to lead Woodmont UCC through a season of sharing our stories and wrestling with scripture together.

 

Rob met his wife, Melissa, in this very church when they were in sixth and seventh grade. They share their home with two cats, Nudge and Spotty, who have yet to demonstrate much interest in organized religion. Rob is a devoted Boston Red Sox and New York Jets fan, which means he has received extensive, if involuntary, training in hope, humility, and perseverance. He’s always happy to talk about Marvel, Star Wars, Doctor Who, or just about anything else from the geekier corners of the universe.
